If you need to use an abrasive sanding disc on anything thats really hard, then these are the discs to go for. Some modern vehicles have scratch resistant paint finishes. These discs have been designed in conjunction with the paint and vehicle manufacturers to deal with it. The P240, P320 and P500 discs have a cloth base with a velour face for attaching onto the velcro of your sander. The finer grits, P500, P1000 and P2000 have a foam backing, again with a velours face. (P500 is available with either cloth back or foam back)The diamond grain on these discs gives up to 40 times the life of conventional abrasives, and can be used wet or dry. When polishing with the finer foam backed discs, it is better to use water with the to attain a better finish. Not only are these discs a necessity for the scratch resistant paints, but they also give a cost effective solution to sanding corian, gel coats, carbons and other hard, man made products.
